Challenges for eLearning

It's interesting to note the effects in general on the L&D industry, as a result of the global pandemic. In some respects it is a great opportunity for expanding the online learning industry - and yet there is still the 'same old, same old' argument, concerning how training investment is equated to ROI.


There are undoubtedly true benefits of online learning and online classrooms - and one of the challenges is to demonstrate that the skills sets for creating effective learning materials do not wholly match with the more traditional classroom style of delivery requirements.





In a corporate context, when companies are faced with a downturn, it has always historically been the case that the training budget is one of the first casualties of any belt tightening. The difficulty in equating education to a company's profitability and therefore its value has, until now, been something of a nebulous debate to substantiate.


However, in the 'new world' of the home office and remote working, we have the opportunity to push forward with quality online eLearning and delivery, as the new essential to office communications and productivity.
